Steve, can't help much, but I had (have) a similar problem.  Finally
cleaned up most of it.  My PC pnly goes down about once a day
now.  Before installing IE 4, it went doen once in two weeks,,
maybe.  If you get any answers, I, for one, would should like
 to hear them.
