I agree 440% with all Stan's points. There might be a niche for a
"crippled" A-class as a low-end box for would-be individual developers,
schools, etc., but it should have a 2-user license and sell for about
$5000 with Image or $3000 with MPE/iX only. WEB and CS apps don't care
about the user license count anyway. Re-stating my previous post about
the gap between "A" and "N" class servers, CSY needs an "L" class
offering -- and they need it now! In general, the 3000 line should have the
the same hardware offerings that are CURRENTLY available in the 9000 line --
instead of crippled/overpriced versions of 9000 boxes . Any price
differences should be a function of the quality/usefulness of the MPE/iX
OS -- compared to the competition (HP9000s, SUN, COMPAC, IBM, DELL, etc.).
