We are almost finished with migrating our systems from MPE-V to MPE/ix. We
are going through extensive testing now and are posing ‘what if' scenarios.
A question has come up that we're sure someone on this list can help us
answer. What happens if a user with a NS connection "kills" his terminal
emulator in the middle of a multi-record update? With a serial connection,
this has not been a problem...the session stays alive. But with a NS
connection, is the session and it's processes immediately terminated
potentially leaving some of the updates undone? If so, is there a way to
prevent this?
We plan to use Minisoft for our terminal emulator.
Any comments would be appreciated. We might even be grateful enough to
send you a "slightly used HP3000 model 70" (shipping not included)!
Thanks!
