Let me say that Colin Powell has been my greatest disappointment in all of
this. Prior to his joining the current administration, I was one of his most
ardent supporters. I strongly felt that it was his duty to run for President,
if not only for the reason that he was among the most eminently qualified,
but that he would also put "blackness" behind us, in the same manner that
Kennedy put Catholicism to rest as a test for who and who isn't acceptable to
the American people for the office of President.

Although many people credit Powell with bringing a sense of rationality and
balance to the current administration, regrettably I would no longer vote for
him. He has sacrificed his integrity at the cost of being a "good soldier."

As for Whitman, she seems to be a genuinely decent person, but she does seem
to have a much higher tolerance for humiliation that I would in a similar
situation.
