It would seem that PCs have some form of Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria
Syndrome.

Subject: [HP3000-L] Value

Hi all,

Yesterday, the console on one of our HP3000s died. The console, an
HP2648, was 23 years old; the HP3000 is 14 years old and still doing its
job. I replaced it with a 21-year-old console (an HP2647).

This weekend, I'm taking a bunch of five-year-old PCs down to the
recycling center.

How can PCs be mature if they never live to the age of puberty, let alone
majority?
