By request, the TRANSACT pdf and html files have been added back to my web site at:

http://www.assertiveincompetence.org/

go to the MPE iX & OS/390 button on the left to take you to the site for HP e3000 info.

The TRANSACT html manaual out on http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/doc3k/B3224790028.17291/1 is for MPE/iX 5.5; It is an update.
For this reason, it is missing the introduction, chapters 1,2, 4,5, 10, and Appendix A and C.
Moreover, portions of the other chapters may be missing.
Furthermore, the Index is useless, because even though it shows you the Items, it does not give you the page number or let you link to the indexed item!
As if that weren't enough, some of the illustrations can't be found when you click on them!

My version has all the chapters.
The Index items have URL links and take you right there.
More items are indexed than in either 5.0 or 5.5.

The PDF version of TRANSACT is also complete, because I merged the 5.0 and 5.5 versions.
The PDF version on the docs.hp.com site is the update from 5.5, and as such, is missing the same chapters as the html version out there.

I keep hoping hp will fix this, and I have sent them the documentation; perhaps this is still in process.

Apache Jserv:

Also included now are the Apache Jserv modules from the 1.3.9 Apache beta from the Jazz site (discontinued 12/12/2000).

There is included a set of working configuration items that are guaranteed to run properly if you change some tcp/ip identifiers and the administrative e-mail address.

Not included at the moment is the Java configuration file, but I will add that tonight.

As is noted, this is for MPE i/X 6.0 (Power Patch 2 and above); 6.5 has the materials you need to proceed.

Therefore, the information here will be removed in September, which should be enough time for those who have not implemented an Apache Java server yet to have the opportunity to do so.

The 6.5 Express 2 Communicator, Volume 11, Issue 2, has the instructions on how to set it all up on pages 25 through 45.

Unfortunately, it does not appear that Issue 2 is on the //docs.hp.com web site, so if there is some demand, I will put the instructions on my web site later.
