It is truly noble that HP'ers come to the defense of Mr. Prather, but that
is neither here nor there.

Whether HP 3000 sales met projections or not is a moot point and cannot be
discussed here since HP won't reveal either side of the equation
(projections or sales).  All we have to go on is the statements made by HP
management.

However, what I am getting at is the "Everything's fine" picture that Mr.
Prather painted prior to 11-14.  To say at HP World that sales are above
projections and then a few months later (right after back-to-back
record-setting sales months as reported by Client Systems) say that there
aren't enough customers seems disingenuous.  We will probably never know the
true story.  Sort of like the Enron fiasco...
