I forgot (and Wirt included) a few things.
 
1) Auto Answer - use the ATS0=1 command.  This will make your modem answer
 after one ring.
 
 
2) Save the configs - After setting up your modem, you might want to save
your configs just in case the power goes off :)  To do this, enter
 
AT&W
 
Some modems have 1 or 2 config memories.  You should save the configs to
all of the memories.  To do this enter
 
AT&W
AT&W0
AT&W1
 
 
If you get an error on the last one, then there is only one memory
location.
