Raid is best for the system volume set since it cannot be software
mirrored
in MPE. Raid 0/1 has the best performance (IMHO). Jamaica provides
some
hardware redundancy but requires software mirroring and again, not good
for
the system volume set. Nikes do mirroring/Raid in the array itself.
You
should look at the various hardware/controller options for RAID for the
system volume set (Nikes are a bit pricey for the system volume set if
you have most of your user data on private volumes, I don't recall specs
on the prior models).
