Brett,

Years ago, I was uninstalling an HP7980... I asked the customer what they were going to do with it, they said they didn't want it, and wanted to know if I wanted it.

There was no way, I wanted it, so we put it in the lobby.

About 4-5 hours later we went to 'clean up the mess' and the tape drive was missing.

Nobody ever confessed.... no charges were filed.  :-)

I know, I know - quit laughing, but I thought I read about someone looking for
a 3/4" tape solution for a newer machine awhile back, and thought I would
give this a try. The 7980 is the lowest profile 3/4" tape drive HP made -

the "pizza oven". So if anybody is looking for one, it's
probably going to go
fairly cheap - I might even throw in a couple of A3352A 4GB SCSI drives to
sweeten the deal. Email [log in to unmask] with a generous offer...

Wow, January's gone already...

Happy day,
Brett
