I would think that if you had a hardware problem on LDEV 1, you'd be getting
system aborts by now. Could you do a "discfree C" and post the output? It
seems odd to me that virtually all your free space on LDEV 1 is in one
contiguous block; i.e., you have almost zero fragmentation.
