It's the Howmessy master data statistics that I find THE MOST useful
- specifically, the max.blocks column.
And it's the one measurement - that if appropriately acted upon - can
make the most dramatic impact upon application/database performance
with minimal investment in time or money.
Sure, you can always upgrade to an N4000 for a few hardware bucks and
probably a lot more software licensing upgrade $$$, but I like my
quick, cheap, AND EFFECTIVE Howmessy any time.
And, BTW, for any listers out there interested in "a baker's dozen
tips for effective system administration" - including effective use
of Howmessy, simply wander over to www.ghrug.org and register for the
upcoming conference.
Hope to see many of you there.
Cheers, TGIF, and Gung Hay Fat Choy!
