Thanks for the informative reply. My apologies for not acknowledging (sp?) sooner but I was away from my site for a while. I
will have to find my way to the SIGALLBASE group and check it out. ( I also have a great respect for Interex having picked up
many tips from the Interac magazine).
Yout comment that the newsgroup doesn't get much traffic leads me to believe that there are not a lot of Allbase users. Is
this the case? I would think that if HP could successfully promote Allbase it would give the HP 3000 (I just can't bring
myself to use '3k' - too much like other buzzwords such as 'Information Highway' - buzz, buzz, buzz) a much higher profile as
a viable server. My recent research surprised me to discover the level of SQL compliance it uses. A good promotion may
influence more shops to reconsider any thoughts of totally moving away from the HP 3000 - especially with the amount of
software that would be tied to the platform.Anyways,
