John,
That's a reference to the Douglas Adams trilogy in 5 parts , the Hitchhikers
Guide to the Galaxy. Book 4 is titled "So Long and Thanks For All The Fish"
which is what the dolphins' parting message to us when they depart the
Earth before it is blown up. Read the books, if you like humour mixed with
Sci Fi mixed with exploration of the English language.
