Sure can. We have up to 8 ldevs for the same printer (and IP address) works
great.
xxx0 = psuedo green bar
xxx1 = landscape no lines
xxx2 = 2 up
xxx3 = portrait mode
xxx4 = 4 up
..... you get the idea
The biggest drawback to this approach is that you wil eventually approach
the ldev limit.
Biggest advantage, users (and applications) don't have to deal with file
equations.
