Does anyone have any experience doing passive FTP via Firewall?

We have HP3000 Series 968 and it does an FTP to DATAMAX Printer (via
ethernet port) and it works great (all in one building)

However, one of our customers try the same thing at their site (they have a
Sonicwall - VPN) and HP3000 FTP can not send the info. It can Ping it, open
the FTP, but can not send the data.

We believe the reason is because Passive FTP is using calculated ports, but
how do you control it? The customer cant open all the ports (they do have
the FTP port open). Any solutions or directions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dave
