Subject: Re: COBOL (was: PowerPatch/Power
Patch/Powerpatch/POWERPATCH/???)
** Top Secret **
Hi, Joe
Well, Our COBOL Package even use CODASYL database call
Interpreter like CODASYL DB CALL.
FF-USING-... (DBFIND mode 1 + DBGET Mode 5)
FN-USING... (DBGET Mode 5)
FP-USING (DBGET mode 6)
and CODASYL DB CALL called IMAGE Routines ( ^ _^ )
Cheers

<snip all of the various acronyms...>
Where is Grace Hopper when we need her the most?
May she rest in peace - and may this argument rest in peace as well. According
to a textbook I have here:
COmmon Business Oriented Language
-- - - -
Now, texts are not the cure-all, but they are authoritative. Whether this is
right or not, only CODASYL knows for sure, and the initial intent of the
acronym has probably gone with good ol' Grace, to that big Data Center in the
sky, where she's probably having martinis with Mr. Hollerith himself :)
Regards,
Joe
