Thanks anyway Jim but I know the modem configuration routine from the
console be heart.  I even used the 92219Q cable.  Since this is a 918,
there is only one modem port on the back of the multifunction I/O card.
(The ports you described seem to hearken back to the days of the 922.)

My worry is whether HP has changed the modem port on their new machines
to want something *other* than a 92219Q cable.  The modem answers the
phone, and I even got a prompt twice, but it wasn't consistent.

What bugs me is that even if the remote console is disabled (DR) I should
still get a session prompt on LDEV 21 vice 20.  In either case I get nothing.
