Hope someone can help here as LaserROM shows nothing:
We have just updated to MPE/iX 5.5 with no particular
problems but we are also just starting to use the POSIX
shell and have a couple of problems:
1. The access to profile, motd and other files in /etc
   seems to be wrong. Once set to allow shell users to
   read them, the transition to the shell is OK except:

2. tput: Unknown terminal "hp2392a".
   tabs: Unknown terminal "hp2392a".

I have looked at tput and tabs and as far as I can see
they need access to the terminfo files which include
an hp2392a (supposedly a supported type).
This problem does NOT occur if I log on as manager.sys,
only if as a less exalted user.
It means I can't run various things including more and
vi (the latter may be more of a blessing than a curse!)
eg.:
shell/iX> vi test.txt
Unknown terminal "hp2392a".

Is this a security access problem or something more
complex? Can anyone help?

Thanks awfully in anticipation. A email (or copy)
direct to me instead of the list would be much
appreciated as I only get the list in digest form once
a day.
