To: TeamSamba,
Samba 0.7 installed and working fine.
One of my co-workers was using our HP3000 as temp storage
via Samba and found an inconsistency, probably a bug in mapping of
non-standard names.
Here's the scoop:
shell/iX> pwd
/CSS/PUB/winnuke/nt3.51_20_servicepack_20_2
shell/iX> ls -l
total 25423 -rwxr--r-- 1 CLIENT.CSS CSS 13016491 May 16
17:15 sp5_351i.exe
Windows Explorer displays this directory properly as:
winnuke + nt3.51 servicepack 2
but shows the directory as blank.
I think Samba can't parse the file name sp5_351i.exe properly.
Probably gets confused with the leading underscore followed by two
numbers(Hex:35 Ascii:'5')
I tried changing the file name to sp5_35_1i.exe.
Explorerer till couldn't see it.
Changed to sp5_20_1i.exe and it was now visible as sp5 1i.exe
Bob.
