 Your supplier is right BUT you are talking about two different ports.
You CAN use the AUI OR BNC port for lan on your 3000 but you CAN'T
use the RJ45 port. Let me clarify. There is a built-in RJ45 lan port
on your 918LX's processor card that is probably hidden by a sheetmetal
cover. That port is only accessed on the 9000 versions of your chassis
i.e. E25. You can use the AUI lan port on the MFIO card (if jumpered)
with a transceiver to convert to a RJ45/10baseT connection.
 You must also determine that your bisync software will use a lan port
and not just a PSI.
