having had experience with one of the two
to throw in my two cents....

having had experience with one of the two pricey companies mentioned below....if you company elects to go with a 'major' DR provider, be absolutely certain that they can provide the correct architecture mpe system. if you are currently on a nio system (a- or n-class) and you're given a cio system (9x8, 9x9, 99x) -- or visa versa -- you may spend an extraordinary amount of time trying to get up an running on the dr box. also, don't hold your breath about getting any help from the dr company.

at least in my experience <sigh> - d

Bob,

I work in the MPE Practice at Abtech Support Services.

Abtech offers a variety of DR solutions from managing/maintaining
remotely located platform(s) located at Abtech/non-Abtech facilities to
"hot ship" equipment staged at an Abtech location closest to the
designated ship-to point.

We've worked with various customers to develop DR/Business Continuity
plans to reduce risk within an affordable budget.

For those clients needing instantaneous failover, big dedicated
bandwidth comm req's, or multiple vendor platform redundancy, Sungard
and IBM Global Services provide extremely comprehensive, albeit pricey,
solutions.

Hope this helps...didn't mean this to be a plug for Abtech, but I do
know we have the solutions in place.

Maybe somebody can steer me in the right direction. I have had more
than a few 3000 users that were interested in a third party company that
offeres DR services. Not every client is comfortable or has the staff
or facilities to manage their own DR 3000 server.

Is there a third party company that still offers the 3000 user remote DR
services? Any contact information would be appreciated.

Thanks
