Perhaps because they don't live in the Bay Area? If I was living there I would love to attend.
Good luck. I hope your attendance goes up.

Subject: SIGSYSMAN Meeting: No Interest?
Attention HP3000 System Managers!
The June 26 meeting in Oakland has generated only 8 confirmations, where
in the past we would have at least 25 by now. Is this another sign that
the HP3000 is near death? Clearly, this kind of response will be the end
of quarterly meetings as we've known them. Perhaps the HP3000-L has
eliminated the need for face-to-face information sharing? Or is nobody
interested in the speakers/topics?
Geez, I would have thought a free lunch would have generated at least a
dozen responses.
Anyway, there's plenty of room left so please reply today!
