Hello all!

I'm trying to recall if there was a way to allow multiple users
of an HPLIST file with shared access.

I am looking for a way to allow the first user UPDATE mode, and the other
users
READ access only. I've tried several file equations, but no success so far.
HPLIST does not allow use of the back-reference "*FILE" indicator.

Does anyone have any idea? Thanks.

HPLISTKEEPER expects users to be the creator and logged into the group where
the file resides even for read access. However, you can make a copy of the
file into another group, perhaps change the security matrix to W:AL or some
such. It's also possible to use other prgrammatic access to read the file.
I've used both COBOL and QUIZ. I imagine that one could use QUICK.

I do not expect HP to invest any effort to change HPLISTKEEPER.
