If HP puts them up for sale, I'll be delighted to buy one. This is a new
source of revenue for CSY: Franchise the HP3000 name. I am SERIOUS.

Besides being amazed, I am deeply saddened. Hopefully, HP's bold approach
at the Internet conference is just the beginning of an aggressive and
effective HP campaign to educate the masses about the strengths of the
HP3000:

        - Its IMAGE/SQL DBMS (screamingly fast, famously reliable, and capable
of hundreds of concurrent connections with modest hardware
          requirements).

        - Its ever-expanding connectivity to all kinds of clients.

Good for you. Soon, you should be able to demonstrate Java-powered access
to IMAGE databases from ANY client that is capable of running the Java
Virtual Machine (JVM), including Macintoshes, PCs, Unix workstations,
Amigas, network computers, toasters, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs),
and what-have-you. There are several active projects going on that are
addressing this important issue. I am sure we will see a lot of traffic on
this list about the status of these Java-oriented developments.

This is the way things should be: If someone doesn't know what s/he is
talking about, s/he should not pose as an expert (and charge money for it,
to add insult to injury).

Congratulations, Art!
