It would most definitely be worth your while to repack detail datasets.
I recently repacked a customers details and immediately saw a 10%
improvement in disc i/o.

Rene Woc and Patrick Mullen from Adager are great resources in that
area.

Subject: Re: Memory Utilization Performance Question

Thank you to all that have replied. I've received several good suggestions
that I will be following up on, particularly purging/history account,
looking at changes, etc.

We have not seen recent increases in memory pressure, it's been in the 90's
for hours at a time for many months now. We did replace out Symmetrix-3
with a Symmetrix-4.8 and saw good improvement in some processes but not in
others which focused my attention on the databases. Part of our problem
with being a 24/7 business is that re-omnidexing and repacking details takes
too long to complete for our business groups to be comfortible with. It's
looking like they're going to have to accommodate that though since throwing
money at hardware didn't fix the most critical issues.

Again, thanks to everyone who responded, both to the list and privately.
