I googled the author's name, went to his site and scanned a few of his other
articles.  I haven't been able to figure out how or why he calls himself a
democrat yet, though; but, it certainly explains why Brice would be willing
to quote him.

I don't know enough about how Google works, does it normally have the
Democratic party registry available?  If it does not, then it will be
hard to find conclusive proof of a persons party affiliation there.

I confess I assumed Mr Card was registered as a Democrat because he
said he was.
