On occasion (like right now) I get spoolfiles that hang on the printer. This
usually happens on a networked printer. The NPCONFIG file is fine (as I said
the printer was fine a hour ago.) In this case the Jet Direct is built into
the printer, a Laser 4si. The file is in a PRINT state. This is what I have
tried (not necessarily in this order):
1. Via Spoolf I moved the file to a different LDEV. The original LDEV
remained hung.
2. Issued a stopspool command. The spooler did not stop.
3. Issued a susupendspool command. The spooler did not suspend.
4. Tried to down the device. It says it is in use.
5. Deferred the file via Spoolf. No help.
6. Deferred the file via ALTSPOOLFILE. No help.
7. Issued various combinations of Spoolf commands to no avail.

I know rebooting will help but this MPE not NT so I shouldn't have to resort
to that. How can I fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

TIA Joseph Rosenblatt
