I know this is a palliative and not a cure but I used to create the file and
then open it in an editor, Qedit works very well for this. I then did a
search by the user name I wanted to see. In visual mode this gives you the
whole log entry. (I always had my home line set at the fifth line.) I hope
this helps.

Subject:        LOGTOOL

Hi -

I use LOGTOOL frequently to go back and check console log history. I have
used it for years and usually use Reflection's 'logging' (to a file) for
ease in searching purposes. I would prefer to be able to narrow down the
search for specific entries (ie: specific user) but have been
unsuccessful. I don't get any errors in the syntax or format, just zero
records selected.

For example if I use LOGTOOL>LIST LOG=185;TYPE=115 I will get all
records for the log. I am able to further reduce it by using the TIME
parameter. However, as an example, if I use
LOGTOOL>LIST LOG=185;TYPE=115;USER=MANAGER;ACCOUNT=SYS  it doesn't return
any records.

                              SYSTEM ERROR LOG REPORT
                              =======================
  Report Date/Time:  FRI, DEC  3, 1999 -  9:05 AM
 ===========================================================================
===
  TYPE       DESCRIPTION         COUNT
     Total records checked = 917.   Records selected = 0.
***********************************************************************
    [Report Completed]

But there are records:

 ===========================================================================
===
WED, OCT 13, 1999    4:37 AM       LOG0185.PUB.SYS              SYSTEM (PIN
55)
CONSOLE LOG
(OUTPUT)4:37/55/Predictive Monitor launched MEMSCANP UTILITY
USER:               MANAGER             GROUP:              PUB
ACCOUNT:            SYS                 JSNAME:
 ===========================================================================
===

Are there restrictions on TYPE 115 records that prevents the use of USER,
ACCOUNT, GROUP OR JSNAME? Or is this just another 'end-user' error?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
