Subject: Re: TUNE

HP does a good job as a standard for the queues.. LEAVE them alone..

------QUANTUM-------
QUEUE BASE LIMIT MIN MAX ACTUAL BOOST TIMESLICE
----- ---- ----- --- --- ------ ----- ---------
CQ 152 200 1 2000 9 DECAY 200
DQ 202 238 2000 2000 2000 DECAY 200
EQ 240 253 2000 2000 2000 DECAY 200

The default Queues work fine for a combination of hit and run users and
batch jobs but tends to starve the batch queues if your online users do
anything beyond simple data entry.

The Tune command exists because HP was aware that all our requirements
are unique and cautious adjustments can make a huge difference in
overall performance. To just say the default is always right and leave
it alone is a bit simplistic.

Comments are my own, not my employer's... Etc.
