Hi Scott,
Here are 2 methods which I often use to format a string variable
containing a 6-digit date.

setvar mydate rht("0![hpdate*10000+hpmonth*100+(hpyear mod 100)]",6)

setvar mydate rht("0!hpdate",2)+rht("0!hpmonth",2)+rht("0!hpyear",2)

In both cases, you could use HPYYYY instead of HPYEAR.

Tad.

To the people of the list,

Okay, so I was doing a final bit of Y2K testing last week and had the !HPYEAR
variable in a jobstream that renames some files. I realize that HPDATE variables
drop any leading zeros but did not expect this for the year.
Poor assumption on my part.
Example: !HPMONTH!HPDATE!HPYEAR used on 01/01/99 returns 1199.
When I used this format with a system date of 01/01/00 and 01/01/01 the
variables returned 110 and 111 respectively. Somewhat confusing at first glance.

Anyone have any thoughts or comments.
Should I have any concerns?

Were running iX ver 60
TIA for the input.
