OK, I've pieced this together from assorted posts (this is just my idea,
mind you--if anyone else wants to go in a different direction or try
something else, feel free). It is obviously a VERY ROUGH draft. I was
trying to "add a little meat to it," add a few technical things without
being overwhelming, include a poke at HP, and in the process make it a true
group effort by including various statements that have been contributed.

Obviously this needs to be cleaned up, particularly the half-formed
thoughts/sentences that have been incorporated verbatim:

Carly Fiorina
CEO, Hewlett-Packard

Dear Carly,

We like the HP e3000 that Hewlett-Packard invented 25 years ago so much
that we have taken out a full page ad in The Wall Street Journal just to
tell you:

We like how the HPe3000 MPE/iX Operating System and the Image/SQL DBMS run
on PA-RISC hardware just like the HP 9000 and will run on the same IA-64
hardware Windows 2000, LINUX, and HP-UX..

We like how 100% availability - POSIX - IA-64 - JAVA - WEB-enabling
technologies- Image - Apache - 25 years of compatible - High performing
OLTP- scalability - (etc.).

We like how it requiring worry-free, low cost secure enterprise computing
in the Internet world.

We like how the HP e3000 uses MPE/iX and Image/SQL to run numerous
businesses, such as online retailing and credit unions, and sells them
their airline tickets.

We like how we continue to meet our business challenges and expand our
markets using the cost-effective, forward moving technology invented by HP.

Perhaps most of all, we like how using the HP e3000 lets us sleep at night.

Signed,
Worldwide Users of MPE/iX and Image/SQL
http://www.hp.com/go/3000

P.S. Carly, HP e3000 users worldwide passed the hat to pay for this ad.
We are talking about the HPe3000. What we want to know is - why aren't
you?

(OWL) HP e3000. Who knew?

Disclaimer: e3000, MPE/iX and Image/SQL are trademarks of Hewlett-Packard.

********************************************************

Obviously the disclaimer would be in tiny typeface (and I'm assuming
they're trademarks, or property, or whatever, but it seemed prudent to
include a disclaimer. Any legal types here?).

We can figure out fonts/sizes once the text is finalized.

OK, let's hear that feedback!
