You should "have" to although I "would".
There are sometimes subtle errors or differences between
tape drives which may cause a CSLT created on one drive
to not be readable on the other.
It can be tested and prevented by running CHECKSLT on a
CSLT made on the original alt. boot path on the new alt.
boot path. If it checks out, then it should be o.k.
You can also hedge your bet, make CSLTs on the drives
of both paths! You can always force the path at boot
time.
