Actually, I think those are files for vi. On one terminal,
I entered vi and on another, did:

/BACKUPPL/KLEIN(129): ls -l /tmp/V*
-rw-------   1 MARK.BACKUPPL     0      0 May 18 20:15 /tmp/VIl018400A7.aaa
-rw-------   1 MARK.BACKUPPL     0      7 May 18 20:15 /tmp/VIn018400A7.aaa
-rw-------   1 MARK.BACKUPPL     0   2048 May 18 20:15 /tmp/VIt018400A7.aaa
/BACKUPPL/KLEIN(130):

Next, I exited vi and then did the 'ls' again:

/BACKUPPL/KLEIN(130): ls -l /tmp/V*
ls: File or directory "/tmp/V*" is not found
/BACKUPPL/KLEIN(131):
