Well, I use Mickey$oft's Internet Explorer 3.02 on my Windows 95 OSR2.1
notebook. I tried hicomp.com, works like a champ, I tried adager.com,
didn't work. I tried aics-research.com, worked fine. I tried cnn.com
(Clinton News Network), worked fine, (and they do advertise it that way on
the tube.)
Kind regards,
Denys. . .

A while back, there was a discussion on trying to have the
shortest-possible URL to type into our browsers. After having SUCCESSFULLY
gone to Wirt's web site by typing just "aics-research.com" (I said, "why
not try that today?"), the thought came to type just "adager.com" and
PRESTO! I have not changed anything in Adager's DNS setup since those
HP3000-L discussions a long time ago (Neil Harvey was involved). But I
have certainly upgraded my version of Netscape. So, it appears that it is
a browser-dependent property.
I use Netscape Communicator 4.0.3 for the Macintosh PowerMac. Do you get
the same behavior from YOUR browser(s) on your platform(s)? It would be
interesting to see what is really going on.
Anyhow, this is great! I can now save thousands of keystrokes a year.
