Subject: [HP3000-L] Copy SUBSYS tape using HP-UX commands?

We recently got a 7.5 SUBSYS tape on DDS-3 media. Unfortunately, we have
only DDS-2 drives on our 3000 systems.

I have an HP-UX system with DDS-4 drives. Anybody have a magic recipe for
using "dd" to copy the DDS-3 tape to a DDS-2 tape using HP-UX? Any special
flags needed?

Another alternative would be to temporarily install one of these DDS-4
drives on my A500-200-200 and either use it as a remote device from the
other 3000 that needs this tape, or to copy the tape to DDS-2 media, but I'd
rather not have to reboot my production A-class to make that happen if I can
use the HP-UX system instead.
