Wow!
I really didn't mean to start the "off topic thread of the week"!
When this guy first asked me about this, I thought he was crazy.
But he says that a DIR on the disk in question shows that there
are 1.8MB in use on the disk. He also says that he can install
from the diskette okay. So, I checked my handy mail-order catalog
and, voila! They have two types of preformatted diskettes:
3-1/2" 135 TPI DD IBM/MAC and 3-1/2" HD 2MB IBM/MAC.
So, I'm thinking to myself, maybe the 2MB diskette has more
TPI than the standard 1.44MB? Or maybe I should really get
back to work?
But, I also see in the catalog: 3-1/2" LS-120 (120 MB) diskettes
and a 200 MB HIFD diskette. I think I'm going back to real
work.
