Kurt,
Get hold of a copy of the 'Native Mode Spooler Reference Manual' and read
Chapter 3 (Configuring and Operating Network Printers). This will tell most
of what you need.
For any additional info I suggest that you search the 3000-L archive.
There's lots of positing there about networking printers (some of them are
mine ;).

On our local area network we have a LaserJet as well
as a HP3000 MPE/iX 6.0.
The LJ is configured on the PC's (W2K) and works fine.
How do I configure the LJ as spooled printer on the 3000?
I know NMMGR and SYSGEN on the 3000, but couldn't find
the chapter in the HP manual (which one?) where this is explained.

Its fame supposedly came from the repeated telling by a MP at every stop
