I hated to ask for help in setting up Samba but I give up... I'm on MPEix
6.0 now and it should be easy. I put my tcp/ip address and mask in
smb.conf, stream jsmb.samba.sys, and it doesn't grab socket 139, according
to what sockinfo shows (I get a datagram with a port no. around 45000 that
goes away after a while). If I set up and stream jinetd instead, smb does
grab socket 139, but inetd runs other stuff that I don't want. So I kill
jinetd and try and try with jsmb --- straight out of the box, with PM
capability --- and it will not cooperate in grabbing socket 139. Do I need
to restart the HP3000 --- or at least network services --- or do I have
another problem? Thanks for help...
