What slot are you putting the FW/SCSI card into? That is, is this a new scsi card along with the DLT?
The reason I ask (if my old memory is correct) the two -SCSI slots on the left side (looking from the back) are not activated on all the 9x9 systems unless a PAL chip is installed on system board.

Thanks to all, for the input, I guess I need to verify the firmware
versions and that everything is FW through out, had no idea these same
connectors could be anything other than FW?
This is a production machine and therefore I can't do anything with it
during the day time... tonight I'll post the MAPPER output.
