OK, I'll bite-
What is Shareplex/iX? How does it compare to Samba/iX as a file server?
Does it run under POSIX (undesirable)? Does hp support it(desirable)?
How does one go about acquiring tech data on it?

Shareplex/iX is quite different than Samba/iX. Shareplex is a suite of
several products that allow you to shadow files (e.g., Image, Allbase and
flat files) from one 3k to another or access files on a different 3k than
the one you are currently logged on to. The best place to get information
on the product is through the 1(800)224-hp3k phone number.

Samba/iX is a product that allows you to "attach" a 3k drive to a Windows
environment, similar to attaching a remote drive.

All opinions are my own, and not necessarily those of Hewlett-Packard.
