These examples will help me out a lot. I had tried using both Perl and
Python for doing the batch access (since no program will do it) but both
had real problems with the "select()" function. Perhaps I just don't
have 'em installed correctly (though I thought I followed the docs
pretty well.) I have Perl 5.005_02 and Python 1.51.
I'll go get the latest copy of Perl and (re)install it.

The following Perl code works in a batch job:
