Actually, I spoke with an IBM rep not too long ago. OS/2 Server will be
maintained for the time being. OS/2 Workstation has bit the dust.

1. The availability of apps was dismal
2. To get some apps, they were WinApps, needing the Windows emulator, which
was poorly engineered and did not run well at all
3. It was sucking more money than it was bringing in

So - OS/2 server is still around - for awhile - while it is being evaluated
for profitability as well as new name apps. If these do not show up...the
same demise may come for OS/2. In any event, it cannot compete with NT or
NetWare in terms of apps and sheer functionality. What it is used for
mostly is a DB/2 database or as an app server in pure IBM shops.
