Hello Friends:

Officials at the HP 3000 division have confirmed that future models of the
HP 3000 will operate with HP's strategic computing architecture for the
next century, IA-64. The systems will use both PA-RISC and IA-64 processor
boards to ease the transition into a new architecture. This is the second
architecture migration for the HP 3000, being engineered in large measure
by the same engineering team that took customers from 16- to 32-bit HP
3000s more than a decade ago. New compilers are part of the plan, as well
as migration of IMAGE/SQL to the new systems.
