 Are you sure you have a (centronics) parallel port on your HP3000's
MFIO card?
Normally a 3000 would have an MFIO card (pn A1703-6X204) that provides
SCSI-SE,
console, modem/ap, AUI, and 10base2 connections. The "modem" port uses a
DB25
connector that is often used for centronics/parallel, but on the 3000's
MFIO
provides serial data i.e. RS232.
