Dave -

Your answer disturbs me.  You are saying it is OK for the school system
to punish people for good deeds.

How you raise your son is your business, of course.  It seems to me this
kind of thinking will cause, and has in fact caused from where I sit,
as cascade effect.  No one will want to be a good samaritan because
a rule might be broken and they will get punished for something which
deserves a civic medal of some sort.
