I beg to differ. Apache is free, and the last statistic I read indicated
Apache
runs more than 60% of the web sites on the Internet. Putty is free,
QCTerm,
freevt3k, sendmail, exim, ssh, sftp, OpenOffice, Linux (various flavors
including gentoo) Firefox, Netscape, IE, Eudora, Pegasus, Xnews, and on
and
on.... Check sourceforge for thousands more that are free, and a very
large
number of the software packages that are free are also good.
