Hi - I wasn't trying to be rude by not answering.  Still can't find my
manual.  Hope you have gotten it to work.  If not, try this approach:
 
Others have given you examples with 'OPTION EXTERNAL' in the header.  The
BUILDINT utility was originally designed to take SPL source modules
destined for an SL, and extract various parameters into SPLINTR.  I don't
believe the 'OPTION EXTERNAL' was absolutely required.
 
However, given the type of input it was expecting, '$CONTROL SUBPROGRAM'
may be required.  This is like the $CONTROL DYNAMIC of Cobol (Pascal has a
similar feature I'm sure) when compiling subprograms.
