Howdy,
Well here I sit redfaced. It was the "f" option that was creating all the
weirdness. I also relaized that I had left the "-c" out of the syntax
in my post, however the guru's picked that up quite deftly.
Now (and somewhat off topic) what the problem is, is that the 9000
using the "-xvf" options reads the tape quite nicely. However it does
not create a disc file and gives no error messages.
So here I am....halfway to paradise. Think I'll relax by going out and
cuffing about those few co-workers who escaped yesterday.
