What ftp client are you using? The file attributes on the 3000 are fixed
ASCII, right? I believe that if you were to FCOPY HEX the file, you would
see trailing blanks.
That you are apparently having success with the Minisoft file transfer is
telling. But I am not familiar enough with Minisoft's file transfer to know
its normal behavior. Off the top of my head, I do not recall the hp ftp
server allowing to turn off trailing blanks.
Are there some work-arounds? Some have been mentioned. Two options that
occur to me are to use tobyte to create a bytestream version of the file.
But that would probably lack an appropriate record separator. On either end,
you could use one of several available tools to strip off the trailing
blanks. You could send from the 3000 to an ftp server that this PC can see.
